The Federation of Car Owners of the Russian Federation has begun collecting signatures for the cancellation of technical inspection of cars. The action is held in Tomsk jointly by the regional branch of the Federation of Car Owners, as well as by the non-profit partnerships «Transport Department» and «Association of Tomsk Taxis».
The members of these organizations proceed from the fact that it makes no sense to check the personal cars of citizens once every two years, since the car can become unusable even a month after the technical inspection, and wait another two years until the next MOT. At the same time, commercial vehicles undergo daily technical control before entering the line, thus, state inspection is absolutely redundant for it..
