Youth participation in environmental decision-making is a step towards a sustainable future. The goals of the project are to attract young people to participate in civil society initiatives in cooperation with local authorities. Project geography: St. Petersburg, Novokuznetsk, Petrozavodsk. High school students of St. Petersburg who are interested in their future and the future of their district and city take part in the project. The guys will be able to develop the skills necessary for an ecologist, journalist, leader and for every active citizen. What has already been done: — Interviewing students, schoolchildren, representatives of local authorities and public organizations to draw up an objective picture of the existing practice of interaction; — Formation of the youth asset of the project; — Conducting a training course ‘Ecology and sustainable development’ for participants of the youth asset; — Studying opinions pupils of grades 8-10 about the local environment by the efforts of youth activists; — Conducting the ‘Prioritizing Problems’ campaign by the youth activists; — Issuing 3 issues of the PRAIM newspaper; — Developing a ‘Youth Local Agenda for the 21st Century’ — a list of problems district, work plan to improve the environment. — competition of school environmental projects «Let’s make the city better!». In total, 27 youth projects were submitted for the competition, 15 of them were selected by the jury and received financial support for implementation! What remains to be done this year: — City festival of youth projects, where the results of the work of school project teams will be presented — December 17 — Creation of a system of youth representation in local decision-making structures; — Engaging the media to highlight the results and achievements.
